In the history of Starbucks there has never been a more delicious drink created than the Pumpkin Spice Latte, at least in my humble opinion.
Affectionately known as the PSL, it embodies all the best flavors of fall + coffee. Other cafe’s have tried, but SB you’ve claimed the prize on this one. And did you all know that this year marks 10 years for the Pumpkin Spice Latte. *insert applause*
I fell in love with the PSL at my local Starbucks, and start craving it about a month early every year. Unfortunately, Starbucks in Mexico doesn’t have the PSL. *Gasp* And even if they did I live approximately 7 hours from the nearest Starbucks establishment…
But it didn’t take me long to figure out how to enjoy a delicious sip of fall, (aka a PSL) right here at home, and without a lot of the unwanted sugar and calories!
How to make an iced Pumpkin Spice Latte:
Add to blender: 1 cup milk of choice, heaping 1/4 cup of pumpkin puree, 1 tsp. maple syrup, 2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 heaping Tbsp. instant coffee (via packets work well), and about 6-10 drops vanilla liquid stevia. Then add about 6-8 small ice cubes, and blended until deliciously foamy.
Pour your latte into a tall glass, sprinkle with cinnamon, and enjoy!
This recipe also works for a steaming hot Pumpkin Spice latte:
Make a small french press of strong coffee. While it is brewing mix your milk, pumpkin, spices, maple syrup, and stevia in a saucepan. Whisk it so it gets nice and frothy. When the milk mixture starts to steam it is done. Pour however much coffee you would like into a mug, and then top it off with the pumpkin milk, sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg, and enjoy a moment to yourself.
